A striking copy of the Holy Bible, bound in full morocco and fixed with working gold clasps and a gold cross to the front board. With a tipped-in frontispiece, seventeen tipped-in plates of illustrations and five full-page coloured maps.Containing the Old and New Testaments. This copy of the Holy Bible was previously owned by one Jane Wykeham, with a dedicated ink inscription dated 1870 to the front endpaper. This copy also has a 'Family Register' section that has been charmingly filled with the owner's family history, such as members' birthdays, where they were born and where they were Christened. With a couple further tipped in pages with contemporary inscriptions of family histories. Bound in full morocco with decorative gold cross to the board and gold clasps in full working order. Externally, very smart, with rubbing to the extremities, heaviest to the spine head and tail, and light marks to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound, with the last leaf detached but present. Pages are generally bright and clean, with the odd spot. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper and inscriptions filled out in the 'Family Register' section. Very Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Very Good .
