Edited by "Snug the Joiner", or William Brough, who was an English writer and dramatist, known for his entertaining periodical contributions and Victorian burlesques. Written for the British Association for the Advancement of Science, a charity and learned society founded in 1831 with the aim to promote and develop scientific understanding. The 'Exeter Change' is a humorous booklet published during the Exeter meeting of the British Association in 1869. Bound in half calf with cloth boards. Externally, rather worn with rubbing to the extremities and spine, causing some loss to the leather. Joints are cracked to the head and tail, with leather lifting to the tail of the backstrip. Front board is tenderly held and may detach with further handling. Rear board is broken to the centre, with a similar horizontal crease to the front board. Internally, firmly bound.
