Walsh describes himself as 'An American Recently Returned from Europe&apos.The second edition of Charles Sturt's very scarce work 'The Real State of France, in the Year 1809: With an Account of the Treatment of the Prisoners of War, and Persons Otherwise Detained in France&apos.Retaining the original half title.The 1795 third edition of William Eden, Baron Auckland's work 'Some Remarks on the Apparent Circumstances of the War in the Fourth week of October 1795&apos.Auckland, an associate of William Pitt, presents his views on the French Revolution in this work, and presents the argument for a negotiated peace with France to re-establish the status quo.With a contemporary owner's inscription to the title page head.The fourth work is a second, duplicate copy of the Charles Sturt work referred to above. It is a further second edition of ''The Real State of France, in the Year 1809', also retaining the original half title.The final work in this volume is the 1800 second edition of 'Correspondence between M. Bertrand de Moleville and the Honourable Charles James Fox, upon his Quotation of the Annals of the French Revolution, in the House of Commons', translated from the French into English by R. C. Dallas. In a half calf binding, with marbled paper covered boards. Front joint starting, with board firmly held. Rubbing to rear joint, and back strip head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with the odd instance of spotting and light handling marks to the first and last leaf of each work. Contemporary owner's inscription to one title page head. Very Good .
