The memoirs are compiled from original documents, being materials such as correspondence and poetry. From Adam Clarke, a Methodist theologian who served three times as President of the Wesleyan Methodist Conference. He was a biblical scholar, with his other publication serving as an influential Bible commentary among other works. With a Wesleyan Chapel Promise Form tipped in to volume I. In the original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. With rubbing and bumping to the extremities and darkening to the spines. Marks to the boards. Front hinge to volume I is starting, but firm. Water staining to the rear board of volume II. Bookplate with the letter 'L' to the front pastedown of volume II. Internally, generally firmly bound, with front endpapers of volume I loosening. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a few scattered spot to volume I, and the odd spot to volume II, heaviest to the first and last few leaves. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
