Two vanishingly scarce first editions bound together.Both are undated, but can be dated circa 1926 based upon references within the text.The first work is titled 'Electionana Retfordiensis', and provides 'a complete set of the papers published during the late contest for the borough of East Retford, carefully collected for the amusement of all parties&apos. The second work is a satirical drama titled 'Pinfold & Poper: A Serious Comedy&apos. The 'Dramatis Personae' includes pseudonyms for the two candidates, with William Battie-Wrightson renamed as 'Battie Wrongson', and with Sir Robert Dundas renamed 'Sir Harry Discount&apos.An ink inscription to the 'Dramatis Personae' provides the names of the true identity of each character in ink.Two very scarce works about the 1826 East Retford election. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Joint heads and tails starting, with front board tenderly held to tail, but real board firmly held.
