Description: London, Not Stated, 1814-21. Unbound. Two issues of the very scarce broadsheet 'The Morning Herald', one of the issues largely covering the death of Caroline of Brunswick. Two very scarce issues of 'The Morning Herald', for Monday 31st October 1814, and Tuesday 14th August 1821. 'The Morning Herald' was an early daily magazine founded in 1780, which continued publication until 1869.These two issues provide a unique insight into life in Georgian England, with adverts for various products and companies, as well as information on the movements of the royal family, global news, the poor laws, and recent publications, including an advert for the publication of Cantos III, IV, and V of 'Don Juan&apos. Much of the 1821 issue of 'The Morning Herald' is dedicated to the death and funeral of Queen Caroline of Brunswick, the wife of George IV, who has died on the 7th August. The paper is printed with black borders to mourn her death. Unbound, as issued. Leaves are edge worn, with a few small chips and closed tears, heavier to the 1814 issue. Leaves are age-toned with some light spots. One article to the head of the 1814 issue has been excised. Stamp to the head of the first leaf of each issue. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
