Such news include a child killed by a bear, a fire in Gravesend, auctions being held, the shipwreck of the Lady Evelyn, the Crystal Palace, and more.This newspaper was published as 'The Kentish Independent' from 1843 to 1910, changing its name to 'Kentish Independent and Kentish Mail' from 1910 to 1965.Providing a charming insight into life in Kent during the Victorian era.
