The second edition, revised and enlarged. In a unique crushed morocco binding with gold and silver details to the front board. Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece and over thirteen thousand facsimile reproductions of the marker's marks. This interesting historical work was written by Sir Charles James Jackson and provides a thorough history of the goldsmiths and plate workers of England, Scotland, and Ireland. Charles James Jackson was a British businessman, collector, barrister, newspaper executive, politician, and writer, who was an authority on antique gold and silver plate. Bound in full crushed morocco with silver and gold details to the front. Externally very smart with slight fading to the spine, minor marks to the boards and the slightest rubbing to the raised bands. Internally, generally firmly bound with pp. vii to x disbound but present. Pages generally clean with the odd spot and only minimal age toning. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None stated.
