Christos Georgiou Doumas is a Greek archaeology professor at the University of Athens. He was a curator of antiquities in Attica, the Cyclades, the Dodecanese Islands, and the northern Aegean islands, and also a curator of the prehistoric collections of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. In 1975, Doumas succeeded Spyridon Marinatos as the director of excavations at Akrotiri on the Island of Thera (Santorini). This work explores the wonderfully well-preserved streets, houses and frescoes of Akrotiri, with many interesting illustrations of the site. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
