A wonderful collection of W. E. Johns' adventure novels featuring James Bigglesworth, nicknamed "Biggles", the fictional pilot and adventurer of these books. Written for young readers, Biggles made his first appearance in the first issue of Popular Flying magazine. Since then, Johns' series of "Biggles books" amounted to nearly a hundred volumes. All works are in the publisher's dust wrappers, all unclipped with the exception of 'Air Detective&apos.This set contains seven titles from the series, all of which are reprints from Dean and Son that were published in the 1960s. As these works are difficult to date, they are all circa dated 1967. Let it be noted that those with a 'SBN' must be post 1967, as this was when W. H. Includes a prior piece about pioneer air combat and how Biggles was "born" before the story. Biggles of 266 - Brilliant short stories of air combat in the days of the Royal Flying Corps, all set against the backdrop of war-torn France. Contains SBN. Biggles Flies to Work - The new Air Police Force entrusts Biggles to handle the new mid-air crimes. In the publisher's original cloth binding. In the original dust wrappers, all unclipped apart from 'Air Detective&apos. Externally very smart, most with shelf wear only.
