The owners of the estate, now a Grade I listed building, were the Jones family, later Herbert. It is unclear which Herbert this bookplate belongs to, however it is known that in 1885, Reginald Herbert (son of William Herbert) inherited the estate after his father's death.  In the original cloth binding with decorative gilt.
