This amusing and informative work is told from the view of Biggles as he presents his own personal heroes, including 'Heroes of the Air', 'Heroes Afloat', and 'Man Versus Beast', and many more. Biggles' outlines his thoughts on the notion of heroism, telling the story of influential figures such as Dr Mungo Park, Lady Nithsdale and Sir Francis Drake. With six monochrome illustrations by William Randell. Bound in the publisher's cloth with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with light bumping and the odd small mark to cloth. Dust wrapper is very smart, with light sunning to spine and extremities and the odd mark. Stamp and small ink inscription to front flyleaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the occasional handling mark. Near Fine . Ill.: William Randell.
