Walter Lionel George (1882-1926) was a novelist who used feminist, pacifist, and pro-labour themes in his work.This popular but now scarce work was George's third novel. This edition is from the Abbey Library series.  Two pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. Undated, dated from the advertisement page of new Chapman & Dodd trade titles to the rear. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is smart though faded to the spine and the perimeters of the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned, as is usual for this edition, but are otherwise clean. Dust wrapper is generally smart, with small marks to the wraps.
