Each chapter focuses on different sectors, such as education, prison reform, and missionary work. Among those mentioned are: William Wilberforce, John Colet, Lady Mary Montagu, John Howard, Sister Dora and John Eliot. Four pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with very light shelf wear to the extremities and a couple of small marks to the spine and front board.
