A scarce edition of this reference work from George Crabb. In the publisher's original cloth binding. George Crabb entered Magdalen Hall, Oxford as a gentleman commoner in 1814 shortly before publishing the first edition of this work explaining English synonyms. From its initial publication, the work was often reprinted. Crabb was also the author of other dictionaries which obtained wide popularity, including 'Universal Technological Dictionary' and 'Universal History Dictionary&apos. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart, with fading to the spine and slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Marks to the boards, with a small library impression to the spine. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the occasional spotting, heaviest to the first and last few leaves. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
