A very scarce work.As stated by the British Library, this work originally appeared as eight plates published in 1796, which were reissued in 1800 in this edition, which features a further nine plates.Illustrated with seventeen engraved plates presenting views of London and Westminster.Collated, complete.Many of the views are credited to draughstman James Miller, with the engravers Medland and Watts being responsible for the majority of the plates. A sheet of descriptive text accompanied each plate.With the ownership label of Lorde Milne, senior British Army officer Field Marshal George Francis Milne, to the front pastedown. He served in the Second Boer War and the First World War. In a half morocco binding, with paper covered boards. Externally, significant handling marks to boards, with paper age toned. Bumping to board perimeters. Bookplate to front pastedown. Text block detached from binding. Text block separated in seven places, and weakly held.
