Volume two contains The Story of a Feather, and Cakes and Ale. Volume three contains Mrs. Caudle's Curtain Lectures, Men of Character, and Punch's Complete Letter Writer. Volume four contains A Man Made of Money, Sketches of the English, The Chronicles of Clovernook, and The Sick Giant and the Doctor Dwarf. Written by Douglas William Jerrold, an English dramatist and writer. With an introductory memoir from his son, William Blanchard Jerrold, an English journalist and author. With the bookplate of William Alfred Westropp Foyle, a British bookseller and businessman who co-founded Foyles bookshop in 1903 with his brother Gilbert Foyle. Previously held in the library of Christopher Foyle, a British philanthropist and chairman of the famous Foyle's Bookshop in London. Bound by Root & Son. Bound in half tan calf with marbled boards. Externally, with some rubbing to the extremities and light fading to the spine. The odd small mark to the boards. Loss of the spine labels to volumes I, II, and IV. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small spot. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown with bookseller's label to the rear pastedown. Bound by Root & Son. Good . Ill.: Not Stated.
