A scarce work rebacked in a quarter cloth binding with the original decorative paper laid down to the boards and spine. Illustrated with five plates. Collated, complete. Alice Elizabeth Gillington (1863-1934) was a British author, poet and journalist, who published works under the names Alice E. Gillington, Betty Gillington and "The Romany Rawny". She joined the Gypsy Lore Society and, while living with Gypsy folk, published collections of their folklore, folk songs and singing games. This scarce book is a collection of captivating stories she gathered. Rebacked in a quarter cloth binding with the original decorative paper laid down to the boards and spine. Externally, generally smart, with a little discoloration to the head of the front board. Sunning to the spine, with small losses to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with the odd spot. Losses to the fore edge of a few pages, not affecting the text. Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
