The work explores the physical geography of Chile before discussing various species of birds that reside there and within the surrounding regions. Each section dedicated to a type of bird describes the identifiable features of their South American origins. In the original cloth binding. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart with shelf wear and a few small marks to the boards. Front hinge is tender. Dust wrapper is slightly edge worn and sunned. With marks and handling marks to the wrap. Slight chipping and a small closed tear to the head of the spine. Internally, the first few leaves before the Introduction are loosening, but otherwise generally firm. Pages are bright and clean.
