Collated complete. These tales, translated from the original German by Edgar Taylor, were collected by Jacob and Willhelm Grimm for a period of years.The translations were initially published anonymously by Taylor, and he wrote to the Grimms that his translations were for 'the amusement of some young friends principally in view&apos. It is regarded by many as the first modern illustrated children's book.The stories to this work include 'Hansel and Grettel', 'The Frog Prince', 'Rumplestiltskin', 'Little Red Riding Hood' and 'Rapunzel&apos. In the publisher's boards with facsimile print of the original covers. Externally, with discolouring to the boards and wear to the extremities. Spines are sunned, with section of paper coming away to the spine of Vol I. Handling marks to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound. Front free endpapers to Vol I disbound but present.
