A political thriller set in 1970s Scotland, it envisions a political crisis in which the Scottish National Party gains power. Douglas Hurd is a British Conservative Party politician who has written a number of books including non-fiction and novels. Andrew Osmond (1938-1999) was a British diplomat, novelist, and one of the founders of Private Eye magazine. They met while working for the Foreign Office. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
