Bridges, who lived in the UK from childhood and was particularly known for his boys' fiction, including a number of science-fiction and Lost World adventure tales. Bridges largely wrote under different pseudonyms, including Martin Shaw, John N. Stanton and, as shown through this work, Christopher Beck.In this particular science-fiction adventure, a pair of young lads encounter all sorts of dangerous creatures while on the hunt for treasure. Set under the sea, the murky waters contain carnivorous plants called Hydrozoa, as well as giant, terrifying eels, which also have the ability to come on land. Published as part of the Newnes Adventure Library, by George Newnes publishers.With original advertisements to the paste downs and rear board. Bound in the publisher's original pictorial wraps.
