Bound in half calf with cloth boards. Complete in two volumes. Undated, dated using Jisc from copies held at the National Library of Wales. Written by English publisher and bookseller, Richard Brook, who had a keen interest in botany, with a particular focus on plants that provided a practical use for everyday life. This charming work is comprised of comprehensive descriptions of numerous plant types, all of which have an accompanying illustrations. Brook explores the utility of plants, forming an overview of their history. Illustrated with ninety-nine hand coloured plates and a frontispiece. Collated, complete. Bound in half calf with cloth boards. Externally, sound,with slight rubbing to joints and extremities. Slight marking to spine and cloth. Front joint cracked to the head col volume II. Hinges are slightly strained, but holding. Front free endpaper adhered to the front paste down to volume II. Light age toning and spotting to endpapers. Internally, binding has split after title page to volume I and between pages 352 and 353 to volume II, with cords visible. Otherwise generally firmly bound. Page 733 has been misbound after page 731. Pages are a little age toned with the occasional handling mark. Label remnants to the verso of the title page to volume I. Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
