His poetry was admired by Queen Elizabeth I, and later James I. His poems are described as "brilliant and graceful", writing in decasyllabic quatrains, and rhyme royal, some of his works containing acrostics that spell out "Elisabetha Regina". In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Front joint is strained. Light marks to the boards and spine. Spine is a little discoloured. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, with a small amount of loss to the tail of the spine. Front hinge is strained. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very lightly age-toned and generally clean, with scattered spots to the first and last few pages. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
