She writes to one 'Roger' thanking him for a pleasant evening, and informing him 'this is what Vivian wrote in my copy of the play: 'perhaps it is because of suffering but just now my thought reached such a far point of fantasy that I felt that if nothing was left of Europe but one small crater, and at the bottom lay two bones, if one struck them together and believed enough, that a spark might spring of their contact, and perhaps that spark might be love&apos.This passage has been copied out in pencil to the front free endpaper of the work, and captioned 'written in Denise's copy&apos.With a loosely inserted advertisement for a performance of the play at the Granville Theatre, Walham Green, and with a loosely inserted programme for the performance. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with a touch of rubbing to back strip tail. Discolouration to dust wrapper back strip. Small hole towards back strip tail. Minor losses of paper to back strip head and tail, with small loss to front wrap head, and small closed tear to rear wrap tail.
