Front joints of volumes I and VII starting, but firmly held. Significant loss of leather to front joint of volume VII. Rear joints of volumes VII and IV strained, but firmly held. Further hinges strained, but firmly held. Bookplates to front pastedowns. Front free endpaper of volume I tenderly held and bearing a former owner's inscription. Front and rear endpapers of volume VIII removed. Internally, firmly bound. Inscriptions to each title page, and to final leaves of volumes V-VII.
