Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece, an engraved title page, a vignette to the title page and forty-eight further plates. Collated complete. Bound in full blind stamped cloth. This work features a collection of plates depicting the picturesque scenery and architecture of Wales. The plates depict locations including Conway Castle, Wrexham Church, Tintern Abbey, and Conway Suspension Bridge. With a number of plates illustrated by artist and steel engraver William Henry Bartlett with the majority of plates uncredited. The first volume only of a work that was eventually expanded into a second volume.Undated, dated by copies held on Jisc. Bound in full blind stamped cloth. Externally smart with damp stains to the front boards, bumping to the extremities and marks to the boards and spine. Light spotting to the endpapers.
