The fourth edition of this work in a half morocco binding. Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece, a further seven engraved plates, five full-page maps, and two folding maps. Collated, complete. A travel guide to Scotland, with a description of the various steamboat tours. This guide includes descriptions of Edinburgh and three different tours around Scottish tourist attractions such as the Trosachs, Loch Lomond, Stirling, the Western islands, and Peebles and the Vale of Tweed. This work provides an interesting insight into nineteenth-century travel. In a half morocco binding. Externally, sound, with shelf wear to the boards and rubbing to the joints and extremities. Little cracking to the head of the front joint. Front hinge is strained to the dedication page but firmly held by cords. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age toned but clean. Title page is coming loose but is intact. 9cm tear to the first folding map. 4cm tear to the second folding map. Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
