Hess, an American art editor and curator, best known for his work with the art magazine 'ARTnews&apos. In this work, Hess provides a study on the popular American artist Barnett Newman, one of the leading figures in abstract expressionism and colour field painting. In the publisher's original cloth with the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally lovely with bumping to the extremities of the boards. Ink inscription to the front free endpaper. The wrap is excellent with sunning to the spine, closed tears to the extremities, the odd slight mark and edge wear. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages. Fine . Ill.: Barnett Newman.
