Comprised of 'American Notes and Reprinted Pieces' (1870) and 'The Uncommercial Traveller' (1869).'American Notes' is a travelogue by Dickens, documenting his experiences in North America in 1842. With various other reprinted pieces. In this particular edition, there are seven full-page illustrations. Lacking one plate. 'The Uncommercial Traveller' contains a series of sketches and reminiscences, originally published between 1860 and 1861 in Dickens' journal 'All the Year Round&apos. With three plates present, lacking one. With the ink inscription of J. I Huxley to the first page of 'American Notes&apos. In a brown cloth binding. Externally, sound, with slight rubbing to the extremities and light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Darkening to the spine and marking to cloth. Hinges are strained, particularly to the front, with cords visible. Bookseller blindstamp to front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound, a little tender in places, such as between 'American Notes' and 'The Uncommercial Traveller&apos. Pages bright and clean, with the odd spot to the first and last pages. Good . Ill.: Not Stated. Good .
