His locality and occupation are inspirations for this historical novel which tells an inventive account of Winchester's long history. In original blue cloth binding in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart and bright. Offsetting and scattered spotting to endpapers. Dust wrapper is sound with chipping and the occasional closed tear to the extremities. Handling marks to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound and pages are generally bright and clean. Scattered spotting to fore edge and top edge. Ink inscription of previous owner, dated 1908 to half title. Closed tear, approximately one inch in length to page vii and viii. Very Good .
