Previously held in the library of the Reverend Francis Hutcheson, an Irish philosopher known as one of the founding fathers of the Scottish Enlightenment. In the original full mottled calf binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and light wear to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the boards. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spines, and the spine label to volume two. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot or handling mark. Contemporary ink inscription to the title page with previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Very Good .
