Based on an idea given to Haggard by Rudyard Kipling, the story details a variety of adventures centering on Quatermain's past life regression to a Stone Age ancestor. Sir Henry Rider Haggard (1856-1925) was an English author who specialised in adventure fiction set in exotic locations, primarily Africa. He was a pioneer of the lost world literary genre. With the printer's imprint 'Printed by the Anchor Press, Ltd. Tiptree, Essex, England' to page 287 and a sixteen-page publisher's catalogue for Spring 1927 to the rear.All issue points correspond with Scott, 83. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, smart with fading to the spine. Spine is slightly cocked. Internally, firmly bound.
