Author: Norman Davey Title: Pagan Parable: An Allegory in Four Acts
Description: London, Grayson & Grayson, 1936 . First edition. Cloth. The first edition of this novel surrounding philosophy and morality, written by Norman Davey, with the scarce, unclipped dust wrapper. First edition, bound in the publisher's original cloth, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Written by English engineer, soldier and author, Norman Davey. 'Pagan Parable' was one of Davey's later works, published a couple of years before he stopped writing. This interesting novel surrounds the two-thousand year old schism between Greek and Christian philosophy, regarding the differences between the ethics of Pagan and Christian ideals. Davey approaches this interesting situation in an intriguing and amusing way, combining a serious topic with humour. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with slight bumping to the extremities and the odd mark to cloth. Dust wrapper is good, with loss to the head of the spine and the occasional closed tear, notably to the front joint tail. Wraps are slightly soiled, with the odd mark, and discolouration to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with scattered spotting to the fore edge and to the first and last pages. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed/Good.
