The first edition of this very scarce work in the publisher's original paper wraps. Two library stamps and a small ink inscription to the half title page. Loosely inserted is type-written synopsis. Robert Cromie (1855–1907) was an Irish journalist and author, whose most successful novel was The Crack of Doom (1895).This novel, part of the Warne's Colonial Library series issued for sale "in India and the Colonies only", is a Gothic romance following the story of two Irish girls, Kitty and Nannie, as they fall in love against the backdrop of the Crimean War. Undated, dated through copies held at the British Library. A twelve-page publisher's catalogue to the rear. In the publisher's original paper wraps. Externally generally smart, with a little sunning to the spine and extremities of the wrap. One small tear to the tail of the spine and one small tear to the lower extremity of the front of the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Very Good Indeed .
