Edmund Clerihew Bentley (1875-1956) was an English novelist and humorist, and also the inventor of the clerihew, a form of humorous verse on biographical topics. This an amusing collection of clerihew, satirising notable people such as Christopher Columbus, Edgar Allen Poe and Sir Robert Peel. With illustrations by G. K. Chesterton, Victor Reinganum, Nicholas Bentley and the author. In a quarter cloth binding with paper boards. Externally smart, with marks to the boards and a little sunning to the spine label, which has a small loss, not affecting the lettering. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean.
