This work explores the history of Zaïre, in the former Belgian Congo, with Joris drawing on her own connection to the area, with an uncle who was a Catholic Missionary there. Joris presents a modern view of the country, from the busy streets of Kinshasa to the remote villages. From the library of Hungarian-Canadian author Stephen Vizinczey, best known for his 'In Praise of Older Women', and 'An Innocent Millionaire&apos. His writing was praised by the likes of Graham Greene and Anthony Burgess, describing his fiction as social epics which breathe hope in a corrupt world.
