Andrew Kendrew was an author and artist from York who produced a series of chapbooks (small paper covered booklets) for children. This work provides a biography of Kendrew and discusses the chapbooks in detail, with illustrations depicting Kendrew's intricate wood engravings. The work also contains a checklist for identifying the chapbooks, from physical descriptions, locations they can be found to full collations. In the publisher's original cloth with leather spine label, the original slipcase and folder of three facsimiles. Externally lovely. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages.
