Captain Brereton wrote many works set during war, with this work being set during the Afghan War. In a full calf prize binding with 'Lewisham School's' crest to the front. Externally very smart with fading to the spine and the odd slight mark to the board. Front hinge starting. Internally firmly bound with prize inscription in ink to the front blank dated 1908. Pages lightly age toned with the odd spot, heavier to the front and rear and minor tidemarks to the tail of pp.352 and the rear blanks. Very Good . Ill.: William Rainey. Very Good .
