William Paine (1750-1833) was an American physician and political figure, and was a founding member of the American Antiquarian Society. Rebacked, in a full calf binding with back strip laid down, and boards restored. Retaining the original endpapers. Hinges strained but firmly held, with tape repair to front hinge.
