Lacking dust wrapper. Illustrated throughout by Astri Helberg with a frontispiece and 14 monochrome illustrations. Collated complete. This fictional work was written by Swedish writer Selma Lagerlof. Lagerlof was the first women to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. This work was created to help teach geography to children and describes a young boy who was shrunk to the size of a thumb who travels on the back of a goose to view the scenic country of Sweden. Lagerlof wrote two books from this series documenting the adventures of 'Nils', with this being the second. In the publisher's original cloth. Lacking dust wrapper. Externally very smart with fading, predominantly to the spine, slight bumping to the extremities and very minimal loss to the cloth to the head of the spine. Bookseller's label to the front pastedown with light spotting to the endpapers. Internally front hinge tender after the front blank, otherwise firmly bound.
