Illustrated by George Cruikshank, a British caricaturist and book illustrator, considered the "modern Hogarth" during his life. He is best remembered for his book illustrations for his friend Charles Dickens. In the original quarter cloth with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and minor chipping resulting in light loss to the extremities. The odd mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Light spotting and age toning to the first and last few pages. Contemporary ink inscription to the front pastedown dated 1883. Good . Ill.: George Cruikshank. Good .
