Beatrice Harraden (1864Â1936) was a British author and a leader of the suffragette movement. She was a founding member of the Women"s Social and Political Union (WSPU) and an integral member of the Women Writers' Suffrage League and Women"s Tax Resistance League. In this anthology, Harraden retells twelve ancient stories, including the bravery of Joan of Arc, the triumph of Caesar, and the duties of the Vestal Virgins. These stories are illustrated throughout by H. R. Millar. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with fading to the spine and a couple of small marks to the rear board. Gilt remains bright to the front board. Internally, firmly bound.
