'The Political Controversy: or Weekly Magazine of Ministerial and Anti-Ministerial Essays' was a shortly-lived political periodical which ran from 1761 to 1762, and was published under the pseudonym 'John Caesar Wilkes', the true identity of whom has never been revealed. This periodical ran during a period of political tension, when various journalist and public figures argued over the peace terms to conclude the Seven Years War, and over William Pitt's displacement from office.
