The first edition of this very scarce work.ESTC Citation Number T144578, with the third line of imprint ending 'opposite&apos.Lacking the half-title and final advertisement leaf, also lacking leaf F5, with one page of adverts to the verso of leaf F6.An interesting account of the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion and the involvement of William Boyd, the 4th Earl of Kilmarnock.Boyd was captured at Culloden and was executed for his participation at Tower Hill on the 18th August 1746.This account was written by Baptist Minister James Foster, who gave Boyd the sacrament whilst he was imprisoned before his death. Foster takes a sympathetic approach in this account, for which he was viciously attacked by the public for Jacobitism. Rebound in a quarter calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. Spine, front joint, and head of the front board are faded. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean with a few spots, and a few marks to the title page. Bound without the half-title, leaf F5, and the final leaf of advertisement. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
