With notes and a memoir of the author by John Bruce, a British scholar. Previously held in the library of Sir Malcolm Donald MacEacharn, a British-born Australian shipping magnate in the early twentieth century. He was appointed the Mayor of Melbourne from 1897 to 1900 and successfully stood for the Division of Melbourne at the inaugural federal election, held in 1901. Bound in half red calf with red cloth boards. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound.
