Edited by Alice Stopford Green, an Irish historian, and Kate Norgate, a British historian and one of the first women to achieve academic successes in this sphere. In the original half crushed morocco with red cloth boards. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and marks to the boards. Hinges starting but firm to volume one. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting. Tide marks to the introduction and last few pages of volume three.
