First published in 1696, for the Company of Stationers. This work is comprised of the new edition of the popular religious psalms of David, intended to be fitted to the tunes used in churches. Named after King David, there are seventy-three psalms of David, including the most well-known 'The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.&apos. Compiled by N. Brady, who was a chaplain, and N. Tate, who was Poet-Laureate to His Majesty, at the time. With a selection of hymns and an alphabetic table of psalms to the rear of the work.Ink inscription of E. Sutton dated 1804, to the first blank. Rebound in full red calf. Externally, generally smart with light bumping to the extremities and spine. Slight rubbing to the extremities and to the joints. The occasional mark to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with light age toning. Ink inscription to first blank. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
