A charming work written by the poet and essayist Henry Austin Dobson, mostly known as Austin Dobson. This collection includes eight of his poems, including The Ballad of Beau Brocade, A Gentleman of the Old School, A Gentlewoman of the Old School, A Dead Letter, The Old Sedan Chair, The Ladies of St. James's, Molly Trefusis and A Chapter of Froissart. Profusely illustrated throughout by the Irish illustrator Hugh Thomson, whose work notably was featured in the novels of Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, among many others. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart, though faded to the spine with shelf wear to the extremities. Gilt remains bright to the front board.
