The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. John Buchan, Lord Tweedsmuir (1875-1940) was a Scottish novelist, historian, and Unionist politician who served as Governor General of Canada. He was Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh from 1937 to 1940. This is a transcription of his installation address, delivered before the University of Edinburgh on 20th July 1938. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally cloth is in excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright but spotted throughout. Dust wrapper is mostly smart, though chipped to the head of the spine with a small loss to the upper extremity of the front of the wrap. Slightly faded to the spine of the wrap. Very Good .
